Review player fitness, morale and availability. Compare the strengths of your team with the opponent report, then select the squad and match plan.
Prepare a fallback as well: a more attacking option when chasing the game and a controlled alternative when protecting a lead.

React during the match
Minute-by-minute commentary reports goals, cards, substitutions and important moments. Match statistics help you judge whether the original plan is producing the intended result.
Replacing a striker will not always fix a lack of chances. Changing the focus of play, a midfielder role or the space available to the opponent can matter more.
Review the final whistle
Compare the result with the actual pattern of the match. Look at chances, accuracy, possession and the events that changed the contest.
One defeat does not automatically mean the tactic was wrong. Look for patterns across several fixtures before making major changes.
